the problem

AI-written resumes are getting easier to spot — and easier to reject.

Fabricated experience

Models invent tools, titles, and impact. Interviewers notice — and they filter you out.

Keyword soup

Stuffing ATS terms you can't defend collapses on the first phone call.

One-size-fits-none

A "tailored" resume that ignores your real gaps still gets rejected — just more slowly.

the payoff

A resume you can defend. A gap report you can act on.

A verified Source

Every role, claim, skill, and project — tagged with ownership and evidence.

An honest match verdict

Strong / Supported / Stretch / Gap per requirement, plus an Apply / Apply-with-caveats / Reconsider verdict — reasoning shown.

A tailored resume

Built only from what you've actually done. Editable inline, exportable.

A gap report

The requirements you meet, stretch, or miss — so you know what to learn or negotiate.

how it works

From your history to a tailored resume in four moves.

  1. 01

    Build your Source

Intake your roles, claims, skills, projects, education, certifications, languages, volunteer work, and known gaps — each tagged with ownership and evidence.

  2. 02

    Paste a job description

Anything you're actually considering. Paste the raw text — that's it.

  3. 03

    Get an honest match

Per-requirement verdict (Strong / Supported / Stretch / Gap) and a fit recommendation.

  4. 04

    Export a tailored resume

Drawn only from your Source. Edit inline, export as PDF, apply with confidence.

built in public

A solo build, in public — by someone who felt the pain.

After a layoff, I went through the whole job search. The step that ate the most time was tailoring my resume for every role — read the job description, judge my honest fit, work out the gaps, reframe, edit, export, and do it all again for the next one.

So I built the tool I needed, and I'm building it properly — in public — as Sourcetailor. Tailoring an application by hand usually runs 30–60 minutes; for me, it now takes about 5.

The payoff: a resume you can defend in the interview, an honest gap report, and a clean, ATS-ready export — built only from what you've actually done.

It's a solo build. If you want to talk to the person making the decisions, you will.

principles

Honesty is the product.

No fabrication, ever.

If it isn't in your Source, it doesn't go on the resume. Period.

Gaps are first-class.

A confirmed gap is a feature — the thing that lets you prep, negotiate, or walk away.

You own your data.

Export any time. Delete any time. Your Source is yours.

who it's for

Honest about fit — even about who should use it.

A good fit if you…
  • Career-changing into a new function or industry
  • Applying for senior / staff / leadership roles
  • You have a non-linear history that generic tools flatten
  • Tired of writing bullets you can't defend in the interview
Not for you (yet) if you…
  • You want a one-click "make it sound better" button
  • You want fabricated impact metrics
  • You need to bulk-apply to hundreds of roles
  • You expect us to invent skills you don't have
