Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sourcetailor platform, website, and services located at sourcetailor.com ("Sourcetailor", "the Service", "we", "us", or "our"). The Service is operated by Matt Cortés out of Estado de México, México.

By logging into our invite-only closed beta using your Google account, you explicitly agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you are not authorized to use the application.

1. Beta Account Eligibility & Invite Gates

  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old and possess the full legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction.
  • Invite Isolation: Sourcetailor is an invite-only closed beta platform. Creating an account through unauthorized database modifications or bypassing our explicit verification gates is strictly prohibited. Uninvited email addresses will be systematically redirected to our waitlist.
  • Account Stewardship: You are permitted to hold exactly one active personal account. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the privacy and security of the Google Account used to access our ecosystem. Any actions taken under your account credentials are deemed your own.

2. Acceptable Use Policy & Professional Integrity

The structural value of Sourcetailor relies entirely on accuracy. By using the platform, you promise to uphold absolute professional transparency.

You explicitly agree that you will not:

  • Fabricate employment roles, dates, specific skill proficiencies, professional certifications, or career credentials within "The Source." Honesty is core to our product functionality; generating structurally false configurations compromises system algorithms and misleads end-employers.
  • Upload, paste, or input target job descriptions, text blocks, or corporate data files that violate intellectual property rights, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), or trade secret protections of any third party.
  • Subvert, bypass, or manipulate our database Row-Level Security, API structure, server-side quota managers, or authentication tokens.
  • Execute automated scraping tools, high-frequency query bots, or coordinate brute-force queries against our server layers or our AI subprocessors.
  • Utilize Sourcetailor to create a directly competitive software service, resell AI-generated artifacts to external consumers, or execute resume-tailoring workflows at scale as a commercial service bureau on behalf of third parties.
  • Inject malicious prompt payloads ("prompt-injection attacks") or deliberately transmit scripts designed to damage, distort, or disrupt our integration with the Google Gemini API.

Failure to follow these protocols will result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without notice.

3. Intellectual Property, Your Content, & System Licenses

  • Your Data Ownership: You retain complete, exclusive ownership of the text, histories, and career details you upload to "The Source," along with any tailored resumes or match reports you generate using our system.
  • License to Operate: To run our platform effectively, you grant Matt Cortés (Sourcetailor) a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to securely host, store, transfer, display, and process your data. This license exists solely to deliver the service to you—which includes passing your text strings through server-side routines to our integrated AI subprocessor (Google Gemini API) to yield your requested resume variations.
  • Our Property Rights: The software structure, interface designs, original codebases, proprietary prompt engineering architectures, custom branding, and logos used within Sourcetailor are the exclusive property of Matt Cortés. You may not duplicate, reverse-engineer, or distribute our system assets.

4. Crucial AI Disclosures & Liability Boundaries

Sourcetailor leverages artificial intelligence to assist your job application journey. You acknowledge and accept the following structural parameters:

  • Assistive, Not Definitive: All match percentages, requirement extractions, gap definitions, and resume rewrites are assistive outputs. They do not constitute formal career coaching, legal employment consultation, or binding immigration/work authorization guidance.
  • No Verification Guarantee: We do not independently verify the structural validity or truth of the outputs created by the Google Gemini API. The user bears 100% of the responsibility to carefully audit every single sentence and metric on a tailored resume before sending it to a prospective employer.
  • No Outcome Warranties: We do not guarantee job interviews, hiring callbacks, employment offers, or specific corporate career advancements resulting from your use of the application.

5. Quotas, Capacity Limits, & Fair Use

  • Beta Restraints: Because our system is in an active beta testing phase, your profile is restricted by operational thresholds (hourly, daily, and monthly query or storage limits). These ceilings are enforced to regulate our underlying infrastructure costs and API latencies.
  • Dynamic Adjustment: We reserve the right to modify, lower, or reset user quotas at any moment without prior notice to optimize app performance for all participants.
  • No Evasion: Setting up multiple shell accounts or coordinating with other users to manipulate quota allowances is a material violation of these terms and will result in an immediate platform ban.

6. Comprehensive "As-Is" Beta Disclaimers

SOURCETAILOR IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPLICIT OR IMPLIED.

By launching this beta app, you recognize that:

  • The service has no formal uptime Service Level Agreement (SLA). The system may face structural interruptions, database lockouts, feature changes, or unexpected service downtime.
  • Data Loss Risks Exist: While we implement secure infrastructure practices, code updates during beta testing can result in data loss. You are highly encouraged to maintain separate personal backups of your raw professional histories and download critical resume PDFs or JSON exports frequently.
  • We reserve the absolute right to modify, suspend, or sunset the entirety of the closed beta service at any time, for any reason, without liability to you.

7. User Feedback License

We highly value your input. If you submit suggestions, error reports, optimization ideas, or survey answers via our support links or email, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to implement and monetize those insights into Sourcetailor without any credit, financial compensation, or duty of accounting to you.

8. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Matt Cortés and the Sourcetailor development team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes, without limitation, loss of personal profits, data erasure, missing career opportunities, or the inability to submit a job application on time due to system errors. In no event shall our aggregate financial liability for any legal claims connected to this platform exceed zero ($0.00 USD/MXN), reflecting the zero-cost nature of this beta.
  • Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Matt Cortés from and against any legal actions, liabilities, costs, damages, or attorney fees arising directly out of (a) your content submissions, (b) your violation of these Terms of Service, or (c) your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • Jurisdiction: These Terms, alongside your operational relationship with Sourcetailor, shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the federal laws of Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
  • Venue: Any formal legal dispute, controversy, or claim arising directly out of these Terms that cannot be settled amicably through direct email communication shall be brought exclusively before the competent courts located in Estado de México, México. You explicitly waive any right to alternate geographic venues or foreign legal forums.

10. Miscellaneous Provisions

  • Entirety: These Terms, combined with our active Privacy Policy, constitute the full legal agreement between you and us regarding your use of Sourcetailor.
  • Severability: If any specific clause within these Terms is deemed illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that section shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and all remaining provisions shall continue in full structural effect.
  • No Waiver: Our failure to immediately enforce a specific provision within these Terms does not constitute a permanent waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer or assign your account access or legal rights under these Terms to any third party. We may assign our contractual rights to any successor entity that takes over development of Sourcetailor.
